Also, a decrease in miR-124 was found in those tumor samples, which might contribute to the poor survival of MM patients. On the other hand, overexpression of miR-124 could downregulate LNCOC1 expression, suggesting LNCOC1 is an inhibitory target of miR-124 to suppress the invasion and migration of melanoma cells. In addition, LNCOC1 reduction and miR-124 elevation inhibited primary human melanocyte proliferation to play protective roles in the progression of melanoma.
